‘Love Island: All Stars’ is finally getting ready to get back to filming this week, after production was unexpectedly delayed due to wildfires less than 4km away from the show’s South Africa villa.
Season three of the reality dating show spin off was meant to kick off in the UK this week, with us Kiwis not far behind. But over the weekend, ITV confirmed filming had been paused due to health and safety concerns.
Production was already underway for the first day of filming when the fires broke out in South Africa’s Western Cape last week, forcing thousands of locals to evacuate.
ITV had to pull the plug for the time being and told fans: “Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed.”
Former ‘Love Island’ contestant Mitch Taylor shared an image of the raging fires on social media, giving fans a look at just how rampant the fire had been.
The latest update from production this morning confirmed everyone’s safe. “We are working on bringing you an iconic series,” they said.
The show also reminded fans there is a delay and a new release date is yet to be announced.

For Kiwi fans, TVNZ+ has confirmed we’re waiting too. “The launch of season 3 has been delayed by the UK. A new premiere date will be announced ASAP,” the show's home page reads.
There’s also no word yet on whether the season will be shorter than usual to keep the original finale date as is.
