Lewis Capaldi has confirmed plans for a new album.

The singer-songwriter was the headline act at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, Scotland, on Sunday night.

During the triumphant set, Capaldi told fans he will return to the recording studio after his series of summer gigs are done.

"After this summer, I'm gonna go away for a bit and make an album," the Scottish musician shared while on stage.

As he closed out the music festival, Capaldi also discussed his mental health struggles.

The 29-year-old star reflected on the last time he had appeared at the TRNSMT Festival back in 2022, which was followed by the release of his 2023 album Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.

"And then," he recalled of that time in his life, "I had a complete and utter mental f**king breakdown."

"Thank you for cheering my mental breakdown. Was not a good couple of years I had, but I'm back and I'm feeling better, I feel good. I'm firing on all cylinders, it's nice to be here. My mental health took a beating so it's f**king nice to be here and back with you all," he continued.

Capaldi's last release was in November last year, with the four-track EP titled Survive.

The release marked a triumphant return to music for Capaldi after he took a hiatus to focus on his mental and physical health.

Capaldi has a series of live shows planned for the next few months, including an appearance at BST Hyde Park and a UK and Ireland headline tour.
