Lewis Capaldi has announced an arena tour of the U.K. and Ireland following a triumphant stage comeback at Glastonbury on Friday.
Following a two-year hiatus from music, the Scottish singer-songwriter made a major comeback on Friday by releasing the new single Survive and performing on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage as an unannounced - but widely rumoured - act.
Capaldi kept the ball rolling on Monday by revealing that he was going on tour in September.
Alongside a poster of the shows, he wrote on social media, "About time I got back to work...hope to see you out there."
The tour kicks off in Sheffield on 7 September before heading to Aberdeen and Glasgow in Scotland. The Forget Me singer will then play two shows at London's O2 Arena on 17 and 18 September before stopping in Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Cardiff and finishing up in Dublin, Ireland on 29 September.
In June 2023, the singer announced that he would be taking a break from his career following health issues, including his Tourette's syndrome diagnosis. He said that he needed "to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order".
Three days before announcing the hiatus, Capaldi shocked fans at Glastonbury when he struggled through his performance.
During his set on Friday, the 28-year-old declared, "I'm f**king back, baby!" and performed hits such as Hold Me While You Wait and Someone You Loved.
Before singing Survive for the first time, he told the crowd, "The last two years haven't been the best for me, it's been difficult at times. I wanted to make a song that was about overcoming that stuff and getting through it. This has been my f**king goal, to get back here doing this. So this song is about that."
UK and Ireland are the only places with confirmed dates so far, but there’s still hope for us Kiwis. Lewis was set to play two sold out New Zealand shows in 2023 before they were cancelled, and he previously performed here in 2020, so we know he’s had his sights set on us before.
