Leonardo DiCaprio has joined an esteemed group of stars who have been nominated for Leading Actor at the BAFTA Film Awards seven times.

The Wolf of Wall Street star received his latest Leading Actor BAFTA nomination for One Battle After Another on Tuesday, bringing his grand total to seven, tying the all-time BAFTA record.

He joins six other actors who have achieved this feat, including Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Jack Lemmon, Peter Finch and Dustin Hoffman.

At 51, DiCaprio now sets the record for the youngest actor to reach that many nominations, as the previous record-holder, Hoffman, was 52 when he received his seventh nod.

The Titanic star was previously nominated for a Leading Actor BAFTA for The Aviator, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Don't Look Up and The Revenant, for which he won.

DiCaprio also received his seventh Best Actor Oscar nomination for One Battle After Another last week, while he has an additional supporting actor nod until his belt for What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He also took home the gold for 2015's The Revenant.

According to Variety, Meryl Streep and Dame Judi Dench hold the record for the most BAFTA nominations across all performance categories with 15. Streep has the most Best Actress nods with 12.

This year's BAFTA Leading Actor shortlist features DiCaprio alongside Robert Aramayo (I Swear), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).

The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards will take place on Sunday 22 February at London's Royal Festival Hall.
