Laverne Cox has opened up about working with the "unassuming" and "almost shy" Keanu Reeves on their new movie Outcome.

The Orange Is the New Black actress appears alongside The Matrix legend as well as Cameron Diaz, Jonah Hill and Matt Bomer in the new black comedy, about an actor who is blackmailed over a compromising video.

Recalling what Reeves was like as a co-star, Cox told People that he was "as normal as you can be when you're an international superstar".

"Keanu is focused, and Keanu is intense and just dialled in every single take," she shared. "But once his coverage is done, he just chills a bit, and he's talking more. But he's chill and really normal - as normal as you can be when you're an international superstar."

"But very chill, and unassuming and almost shy, which makes you want him even more," she gushed, before adding, "But I was very appropriate on set - I didn't flirt."

The 53-year-old noted that she would have signed on to the project instantly if she had known about Reeves' involvement. But instead, she agreed to play women's rights lawyer Virginia because she was blown away by her dialogue in the script.

"The script was so smart, so funny, so insightful. So insightful what Virginia gets to say - it started as a five-page monologue that she has that's some of the most prescient, smartest stuff I've gotten to say as a character on screen. And I was like, 'Okay, I have to do this,'" Cox explained.

"And then Keanu Reeves, it's like, honestly, (Jonah) could've just led with Keanu Reeves and I would've been like, 'I'm in. I'm in.'"

Outcome, which was directed and co-written by Hill, is currently streaming on Apple TV.
