Korn have fired out a brand new track called ‘Reward the Scars’, marking their first fresh music since 2022.

It’s been a solid few years between drinks, with their last release being the 2022 album Requiem, so this one hits a bit harder knowing they’ve been quiet on the studio front.

The track arrives tied in with the upcoming Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion, dropping April 28, and it’s classic Korn all over - chunky grooves, bass, a lovely snare sound, and that eerie guitar vibe.

Jonathan Davis sounds right at home too, flipping between that creepy croon and full-blown rage mode like he never left.

The timing’s no accident. Korn are gearing up for a massive run, including a slot at Sick New World in Las Vegas alongside System of a Down and Bring Me the Horizon, plus their first proper European headline tour in over a decade later this year.

There’s also been a bit of chatter about what’s next after Requiem. Guitarist Brian “Head” Welch hinted earlier this year that a full album isn’t the focus right now, but surprises were on the cards.

Add in the fact ‘Freak on a Leash’ is blowing up again on TikTok, and it feels like Korn are creeping back into the spotlight without even trying.

Not bad for a band that’s been doing it this long.
