Kiwis are LOVING McDonald's new collectibles inspired by nostalgic toys from the past

Not sure if this is for the kids or for me... definitely ME!

McDonald's has a brand-new set of collectibles and the hype around them is REAL.

Macca's collectible toys have been and always will be a core memory for loads of Kiwi kids. From toys, vintage posters, movie merch, games, or trading cards, we'd be nagging our parents for a drive-thru run just to snag the whole collection.

Not to mention how we'd RAGE if we were hit with the "we have food at home" chat standing in the way of getting our hands on the latest toy - I speak from experience.

And let's be real, growing up hasn't changed a thing about any of that.

Macca's has just dropped a new range of glasses featuring some of the most iconic collectables from the past.

We're talking about the OGs like the Grimace Mug from 1976, Pet Lovin' Barbie in '99, the Hello Kitty Crew Keychain in 2000, Golden Arches Bear in 2004, Shrek figurines from 'Shrek the Third' in 2007, Minions toys from 'Despicable Me' in 2015, and of course, the Coca-Cola glasses many of us probably still have sitting in the cupboards today.

People are losing it over the new collection, with commenters saying: "Are you frfr?!!!!! I'M LOVING IT can't wait."

"The Shrek glasses are about to be my fine china," said another that's got us cracking up - too relatable.

While a third added: "SCREAMING, CRYING, SHAKING. GRIMACE ITS U."

And while everyone is keen to get their hands on them, they're only here for a good time - not a long one - with the Choose Your Own Share Meal.

Can't wait to refuse to drink from any other vessel for years to come!
