Kiwi woman tries selling husband on Trade Me after impromptu fishing trip

And it made it to 12 bids before it was removed!

If you were looking to purchase a 6 foot 1, 37-year-old Rangitikei beef farmer - sorry, you've missed your chance!

Kiwi woman Linda McAlister had her listing removed from Trade Me after she broke auction rules, trying to sell her husband John on the site.

Telling Stuff, she said the reason for the sale was due to him choosing a unplanned fishing trip over helping her watch their two young boys (aged 4 and 6) during the school holidays.

"As he is a shootin', and fishin' sort of fellow it's not unusual behaviour, but with kids on school holidays and bed times slipping later and later, they are all driving me wild."

Her joke listing, simply titled as 'Husband', was noted as a 'used' item with a number of previous owners, but should remain loyal if kept fed and hydrated. And of course, free shipping.

The 12 bids made it to $100 before it was removed, but it gave her husband's mates a good laugh when they told him about the listing.

"I'm just laughing at the whole thing," he said.

"He was sure he would fetch a pretty penny," said Linda.
