Hip-hop artist, producer, and content creator Mazbou Q has teamed up with three Kiwi winter athletes to create tailor-made songs to pump them up for the road to the Milano Cortina Olympics 2026.

The tracks blend Mazbou’s high-energy style with the athletes’ personal stories, written from the TEAM NZ athletes' perspectives to create a song filled with motivation, empowerment, and straight-up hype.

So far, two of the three are out Ruby Star Andrews inspired ‘I’m a Star’ and Ben Harrington inspired track ‘ALIVE’.

Standout lyrics from Ruby’s custom song include: “I’m a star // If we talking destiny I found it // I was born among the mountains // probably why I seek the peak and nothing else”

Ruby has shared her thoughts on working with Mazbou, saying: “It’s really cool, I mean, he’s a really great musician and rapper, and I feel like he really saw me in the lyrics and got it just right.”

“It’s a really cool project. It’s something new for me," she added. "I was a little confused about what it was gonna be and what I was doing, but we had some really good chats and I feel like he really got to know me and wrote some really cool lyrics that I really connect with.”

Ben’s track 'ALIVE' also dropped last week, with one more song inspired by Lyon Farrel still to come.

Ruby is already guaranteed a spot at the Games, while Ben and Lyon are still fighting it out over the next couple months.

Either way, Mazbou’s tracks are giving them all the hype they need to chase their Winter Olympic dreams.

And I can confirm, if you want to hype yourself up, they do their job on a gym playlist.
