New Zealand had a huge night across the ditch at the annual TikTok AU/NZ Awards in Sydney.

Taking out the New Zealand TikToker of the Year was none other than Kiwi Dad Louis Davis.

If you’ve spent any time scrolling TikTok, Louis has probably popped up on your feed, cracking open kina, diving for kai moana, dancing with his kids, and just being one of the most wholesome Māori dads on the app.

Louis couldn’t attend the awards in person, but he shared a message with his 800,000 followers saying, “Grateful every day to live out my dream. Love you guys.”

He also joked that one of his final bucket-list dreams would be to “play for the Warriors”, which we can absolutely get behind.

He posted the video that played on the night, where he said, “TikTok truly changed my life. I wanted to make a difference in how the world saw my culture, to show all the beautiful things about Māori men, that we love our kids, we love our family, and the ocean sustained us.”

Louis also revealed he’s currently in Brazil, ticking off a promise he made to his wife on their wedding day - to see the Seven Wonders of the World.

He was up against a strong Kiwi line-up too, including The Morning Shift, Man Can Cook NZ (Daniel Rankin), Brit Cunningham, and Paris Nuku.

But Louis wasn’t the only Kiwi celebrating.

Theo Shakes, known for his hilarious daily skits, claimed the Entertainment Creator of the Year.

New Zealand–born dancer Lance Savali, who has performed with Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez, won Music Artist of the Year.

Aussie Dad, Ilai Havea Siaufusi O’Auhangame Matangi, better known as Havea676, claimed Australian TikToker of the Year after winning Comedy Creator of the Year last year

All up, a huge night for Kiwi creators, and well worth a scroll if you haven’t checked out the winners yet.
