If this sounds like someone you know, give them a nudge because Disney has made it clear whether you're a seasoned actor or a newbie, you can audition.
Now, hold on to your coconuts because here's the scoop! Dwayne Johnson, who voiced Maui, and Auli'i Cravalho, the talented voice behind Moana in the animated film, are both part of the production team for the live-action remake.
However, only Dwayne will be stepping into his role as Maui.
Announcing his live-action role, Dwayne took to his Instagram to say: "This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people's grace, mana and warrior strength."
He continued: "I wear our culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me."
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Auli'i confirmed that she won't be returning for the role.
She explained: "When I was cast as Moana at 14, it wonderfully changed my life and started my career. In this live-action retelling, I will not be reprising the role."
Auli'i added: "I can't wait to find the next actress to portray Moana's courageous spirit, undeniable wit and emotional strength."
We're definitely going to miss Auli'i, but we understand that casting accurately is crucial to telling Moana's story.
If you or someone you know is looking to audition, Disney has said to send your name, a recent photo, and your location to moana.casting@disneympp.com.
