Kiwi actress and media personality Kim Crossman has welcomed a baby girl with her husband Tom Walsh.

The former Shortland Street star shared the news alongside a "beautiful" video of her journey going into labour and giving birth to her daughter, Coco Joan Walsh.

"It feels like a privilege to share what the last seventy-two hours have looked like and to finally introduce you to our perfect daughter Coco Joan Walsh," she captioned the video.

"We have felt so supported and held by so many of you during this journey, and I wanted to honour that by sharing the real story in real time."

In a column on Capsule, Kim went into more detail about the birth, explaining "Miss 'I’m going to raw dog it' became Miss 'I would like an epidural' very fast" once she started experiencing intense contractions.

Of the moment when it was finally time for baby Coco to enter the world, Kim wrote: "Tom was the first to see it was a girl, and I will never forget the moment he saw her.

"I couldn’t see her yet, but his eyes welled and he said 'we have a daughter' and my heart exploded and melted at the same time."

"We think she is just perfect," she added on Instagram.

Kim has previously been open about miscarrying her first pregnancy, a baby which she and her husband Tom refer to as Blueberry, because of the size it was when she discovered she was pregnant. She had her hip inked with a picture of a blueberry in tribute.

Kim and Tom, who were married in 2024, were "off to Birthcare" this evening as a "little family" to recover from the birth.

Congratulations to the new parents!
