Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 10th Adult-Rated Film Cleared by CBFC

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s upcoming investigative thriller Daayra has officially cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama. The film, directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, marks the 10th movie in Kareena's career to receive an 'A' (Adults Only) certificate.

Zero Visual Cuts for High-Intensity Drama

As detailed in the Bollywood Hungama report, fans expecting a heavily censored release will be pleased to learn that the CBFC’s Examining Committee granted Daayra approval without demanding any visual cuts. All violent sequences and hard-hitting dialogue remain fully intact.

The board requested only a single audio modification: replacing one specific word in a dialogue spoken by Kareena’s character, Aajuni, near the two-hour mark with the word "Minister". Following this minor tweak, the censor certificate was issued on September 11.

Runtime and Release Date

According to the official certification shared by Bollywood Hungama, Daayra has an exact runtime of 143 minutes and 16 seconds (2 hours, 23 minutes, and 16 seconds).

A Milestone in Kareena’s Career

Daayra joins a list of previous 'A'-rated films featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, including Ajnabee (2001), Chameli (2003), Dev (2004), Omkara (2006), Kurbaan (2009), Heroine (2012), Udta Punjab (2016), Veere Di Wedding (2018), and The Buckingham Murders (2024).

Daayra is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on September 18.
