Julie Andrews is feeling "terribly nervous" about the upcoming documentary about her life and career.
Last month, Disney officials announced they were making a definitive documentary that offers "an intimate and revealing look" at the Mary Poppins legend and features rare, never-before-seen archival footage and "candid new interviews".
Reflecting on the upcoming project, the 90-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter that her "heart is beating" in anticipation of the final film.
"I have not seen it but it's being directed by a very good director whom I admire, R.J. Cutler. He's very into the arts himself," she said. "Although I've not seen it, I'm terribly nervous about it. But it did seem that if I was going to allow anything like that, this is the time in my life when a kind of summing up, a reflection, a retrospective would be allowable and so I took that gamble. And my heart is beating."
Her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, noted that The Sound of Music star spent three or four days being interviewed by Cutler for the project and the process made her realise "what a long life (she's) lived".
"It brought up a lot of things I didn't expect," Andrews added. "But I think he asked all the right questions, and I just hope that he honours some of our requests and things like that."
Cutler has previously made documentaries about celebrities including Elton John, Billie Eilish and Martha Stewart.
The Julie Andrews documentary, which is currently untitled, will be released on Disney+ next year.
