Jimmy Barnes pays special tribute to Tina Turner following her death

The pair famously sung together on her hit song '(Simply) The Best'

Australian singer Jimmy Barnes has paid tribute to legendary icon Tina Turner following the news of her death at the age of 83 in Switzerland.

The 'Working Class Man' rocker famously sang with Tina when they rerecorded her song 'The Best' for New South Wales Rugby League in 1992, retitling their version '(Simply) The Best'.

"I'm so sad to hear that Tina Turner has left us," Jimmy wrote on his social media platforms, sharing a collection of photos

"It was such an honour to work with someone so talented, strong and giving."

It was certainly a highlight of my career to have sung and shared the stage with such a wonderful human being. Thank you and R.I.P

The pair also recorded a special music video where the two danced around the microphones in the studio, alongside Australian musician Johnny Diesel who played a guitar solo instead of the previous saxophone version.
