Jelly Roll has claimed he was "treated like a criminal" during a recent visit to a luxury fashion store.

After performing several shows across Australia, the star posted a video to his Instagram Stories showing him walking along a street with the Louis Vuitton shop in Sydney, Australia as the backdrop.

Speaking to the camera, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, alleged that employees at the high-end store were wary of serving him and his entourage.

"Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney, legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place" he began.

Jelly Roll went on to joke that he hadn't been looked upon in such a way since he was an actual criminal as a young man.

"I have never been looked at more like a crim... Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad... I was an actual criminal this bad," the 40-year-old added.

Jelly Roll didn’t elaborate further on what exactly happened inside the store, and Louis Vuitton has yet to respond to media requests for comment.

Throughout his career, the 'Son of a Sinner' artist has been open about his criminal past, first arrested at 14 and spending several years in and out of jail before turning his life around through music.

Jelly Roll will hopefully get a warmer welcome to New Zealand this weekend when he performs a gig in Auckland on Saturday night.
