Jamie Lee Curtis claps back at 'harsh' reviewers of 'Freakier Friday'

NOBODY comes for her and Lindsay Lohan like that...

Jamie Lee Curtis is fronting negative 'Freakier Friday' reviews like the boss she is.

The sequel, which has been out for just over a week, already has a mixed bag of reviews, but one particularly scathing write-up by Time magazine caught the actress’ attention.

"No one, as far as we know, actually asked Disney for a sequel to 2003’s buoyant, surprisingly unsyrupy generation-gap comedy 'Freaky Friday'," Time critic Stephanie Zacharek wrote.

She further criticised the “ugly costumes, humiliating scenarios” and claimed the follow-up film had “zero added value”.

“This is a sequel with the sole purpose of cashing in on the fondness people have for the original movie and nothing more. The worst part is, 'Freakier Friday' arrived in a pack of other sequels with genuinely fresh takes on their original source material,” Zacharek added.

Jamie Lee Curtis, with her zero added cares attitude, responded: “SEEMS a TAD HARSH. SOME people LOVE it. Me being one.”

And fans are standing right there with her. One wrote: “I loved it. Nostalgic but modern. Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious and Lindsay Lohan was beautiful and great as ever.”

Another chimed in: “Hi, hello, we actually BEGGED for this and are quite pleased with it. Carry on. 🫶🏼”

A third said: “Freaky Friday slander will not be tolerated.”

And a fourth perfectly used the iconic quote from the 2003 original: “Could you like chill for a sec?”

While other underwhelming reviews rolled in - with the likes of ABC calling it “fine” and saying it was “never going to hit the same” - the important thing is that the true fans are loving it.

“I loved it. Nostalgic but modern. Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious and Lindsay Lohan was beautiful and great as ever,” said another.

Someone else said: “Was a great movie and LiLo’s best acting from recent times. Great call backs to the original. Heartfelt moments that resonate with millennials who are now parents. Fun cameos."

Look, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but for what it’s worth, 'Freakier Friday' scored an impressive 73% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a whopping 93% from fans.

And if this whole debacle has taught us anything, it’s that Jamie Lee Curtis does NOT play when it comes to her LiLo and her movies… noted!
