Jack Osbourne intends to 'give fans what they want' with Ozzy Osbourne movie

Jack Osbourne intends to "give the fans what they want" when making the Ozzy Osbourne movie.

The Black Sabbath rocker's son has assured fans they will not make an "artsy, esoteric biopic" because they know that's not what the fans want from a biographical drama about his late father's life.

"I have this mantra, and I always say it, when in meetings with my mum or doing anything with the family business. It's 'give the fans what they want.' That's our people, that's who we're catering to, that's who my dad wrote music for, that's what he toured for, that's why we did the shows we did. It's been a big theme," Jack explained to E! News.

"Because we're doing the Ozzy movie with Sony, and I'm always saying in the meetings, 'We've got to give the fans what they want. We can't make this artsy, esoteric biopic.' No, we're not doing that for many reasons - but it's not what the fans want."

The movie was officially announced in 2021 and has been in development at Sony Pictures ever since.

Offering a status update, Jack told the outlet that the script is complete, and they're currently "going out to directors". They also have someone in mind to play Ozzy, but they're keeping that under wraps for now.

"It's gung-ho," he said of the project's development. "I'm not allowed to say, but conversations have been had, and if it all works out, it's gonna be awesome."

Ozzy died at the age of 76 on 22 July 2025.
