Move over, Hollywood, Jacinda Ardern just stole the show on ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
The former New Zealand Prime Minister joined Kate Winslet, Alan Carr, and Seth Meyers for an evening of laughs, confessions, and jaw-dropping BTS revelations.
Jacinda also confessed to auditioning for Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of The Rings’ (like most of the country did) and mentioned she thinks the reasoning she didn’t get the gig as a hobbit was probably because of her height.
Ardern was there to promote her new documentary, ‘Prime Minister', made from a staggering 300 hours of footage, including home videos from her partner Clarke Gayford.
The film, which wowed Sundance audiences earlier this year, gives fans a peek at the chaos, triumphs, and pyjama-filled moments of leading a country.
And oh BOY, did she spill the tea.
First up, Jacinda Ardern mentioned she found out that she was expecting right in the middle of coalition negotiations in 2017, which came as a surprise to Graham’s UK audience, but to us Kiwi’s we’ve always known the Jacinda lore.
Kate Winslet was so impressed that she practically bowed, guys.
‘You’re even more amazing!’ she gushed. Jacinda then joked that she may have passed off morning sickness at Parliamentary events as a “bad kebab.”
Let’s be real here, that’s low-key iconic.
Then came the political drama. In one clip from ‘Prime Minister’, Jacinda recounts how former opposition leader Simon Bridges yelled, ‘She doesn’t do the economy!’
Her reaction? Priceless:
‘I wanted to punch him in the face.’
Jacinda also gave her partner Gayford a shout-out, crediting him for filming her in all her unfiltered glory, and yes, that included bathrobes and pyjamas.
‘I would never have allowed that,’ she admitted.
But don’t get your hopes up for a political comeback, Jacinda shut that down fast with a firm, definitive ‘No’.
The episode airs in New Zealand on December 12, and viewers can expect more laughs, more shade, and maybe a little political punch.
