First week of the new year and the internet has already given us our favourite phrase.

If you’ve come across the “365 buttons” or seen people quoting “hey so it actually only has to make sense to me for me to do it and I don’t feel like explaining it to anyone else”, and felt completely lost, don’t worry. You’re in the right place.

Quick backstory:

TikTok creator Abbie posted a video about her 2026 plans with the caption, “How serious I’m taking this 2026 rebrand.”

In the clip, she’s wearing a face mask, wrapped in a bathrobe, towel still on her head, fully locked into rebrand mode.

But the iconic thing happened in the comments. Yes, the comment section.

Enter: Queen Tamara.

A user named Tamara commented, “I’m getting 365 buttons, one for each day, because I want to do more stuff and I’m scared of time so I want to be more conscious of it.” Honestly? Valid.

Naturally, people were intrigued… and confused.

One person asked, “What is 365 buttons?”

Tamara replied simply, “One for every day.”

That only raised more questions.

“Yes queen but wdym buttons? Like to wear?” another asked.

Tamara explained, “Just to have, to see how quick days pass and to remind myself that time passes and I should just have fun and do a lot of stuff.”

Still, people wanted specifics.

“What are you actually doing with the buttons? Are you putting them in a jar or wearing them?” someone else asked.

And that’s when the internet-defining moment happened.

Tamara replied: “Hey so it actually only has to make sense to me for me to do it and I don’t feel like explaining it to anyone else.”

Someone tried again, saying people were just curious and looking for ideas.

"Lmao people are asking what u plan on doing - like literally and physically with the buttons and probs just trynna get ideas to help themselves”.

Tamara’s response?

“I don’t know and I don’t have to know okay, I just want to carry around a button every day.”

And honestly fair. Let the girl live.

The original comment thread has since been deleted from Abbie’s post, but as we all know, digital footprints are forever. Screenshots started circulating, brat-green text images with the reference have popped up everywhere, and suddenly Tamara’s quote has become the ultimate response for when you simply don’t owe anyone an explanation.

The internet has been absolutely loving this.

“‘I don’t know and I don’t have to know’ is my new response when I don’t feel like explaining,” one person wrote.

“Tamara said mind ya business 😒 I need to be more like Tamara in 2026,” another commented.

“Tamara is almost single-handedly teaching boundaries to TikTok and I am HERE for it ✨,” said a third.

So maybe 2026 is the year we do things just because we want to, and stop feeling like we owe anyone an explanation.
