India Tour Sparks Record Ticket Rush for NZ Summer of Cricket

Cricket fans across New Zealand have responded in record numbers to the opening of the NZC International summer pre-sale, snapping up more than 26,000 tickets within 48 hours of the Cricket Nation member access going live on Monday.

The unprecedented surge in demand is being driven by India’s landmark 12-match multi-format tour, which kicks off in October. White-ball fixtures at Auckland’s Eden Park are currently leading the overall sales volume, while smaller venues across the country are rapidly approaching capacity.

High Demand Across Venues

• Auckland (Eden Park): Leading total sales volume for the white-ball leg of the tour.

• Christchurch (Hagley Oval): The 9,000-capacity venue is closing in on sell-outs for back-to-back T20I openers on October 22 and October 24, as well as the series-concluding second Test (November 27 – December 1).

• Wellington: Strong early interest for fixtures at HNRY Stadium (third T20I and second ODI) and the iconic Cello Basin Reserve, which hosts the opening Test starting November 19.

NZC Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Glenn Critchley highlighted the strong response from local supporters, noting that ticket prices have been frozen at last season's rates—with Cricket Nation member prices starting under $30.
