Remember the chaos in Slipknot’s Duality video, where fans tore through a house while the band smashed and screamed their way through the living room? That very same house is about to go under the hammer. Again.
For those who don't know the back story of the house - back in 2004, Slipknot invited a bunch of their diehard fans to take part in the Duality shoot. What started as a music video turned into absolute chaos.
Fans, or should I say maggots, were crashing through windows, jumping off the roof onto cars, and just generally wrecking the place - all while the band ripped through one of their biggest tracks.
It made an epic music video - which fifteen years later, has 464 million views on YouTube - but the level of destruction that occurred on the property wasn’t part of the plan.
“We weren’t supposed to destroy that house - but we did anyway,” Clown (Shawn Crahan) told Kerrang! at the time
Apparently, the owner of the house had agreed to let them film there since it was due for some renos, but they clearly weren’t expecting the full-scale demolition that followed.
After the shoot, the owners reportedly handed the band a “fix or replace” list that included just about everything - windows, the kitchen, doors, ceilings, rugs, even the basketball hoop, according to MTV. Basically, if it could be smashed, it was.
But the shoot paid off. Duality hit No. 5 on the Mainstream Rock charts and No. 6 on the Alternative charts, and the video became an MTV staple.
According to The Des Moines Register, the iconic home is heading to a foreclosure auction on October 14.

It’s a three bedroom, two bathroom home, with about 1,747 square feet and is valued around $529,071.32.
The property was foreclosed earlier this year after the owners reportedly defaulted on their mortgage, leaving about $242,200 NZD unpaid, which is why it’s now getting the auction treatment.
This sacred site for maggots is set to be auctioned off on October 14th. Keen to have a look at it? Check out the listing.
