'I tell the truth': Jay-Z roasts Grammys for Beyoncé snub while accepting Global Impact Award

"Some of you don't belong in the category."

While accepting Dr. Dre's Global Impact Award, Jay-Z went off at the Grammys.

He roasted them for never awarding his wife Beyoncé the 'Album of the Year', despite her having the most Grammys ever.

"I don't wanna embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won 'Album of the Year'," he said. "So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work."

"Think about that. The most Grammys, never won 'Album of the Year' - that doesn't work."

He then went off on other nominees, who he feels don't deserve the accolade.

"Some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed," he continued. "Some of you may get robbed."

"Some of you don't belong in the category. When I get nervous I tell the truth."

After the audience stopped gasping, Jay gave out some advice to artists who feel they've been snubbed.

"Forget the Grammys for a second, just in life... you gotta keep showing up. Just keep showing up."

"Forget the Grammys, you gotta keep showing up until they give you all the accolades you feel you deserve - until they call you 'chairman', 'a genius', until they call you 'the greatest'."
