Almost 18 years has passed since the second 'The Princess Diaries' film, and the cast is eager to return.
Now, Mandy Moore joins Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews in pushing for 'The Princess Diaries 3'.
The Disney film original and its sequel were released in 2001 and 2004.
It became a worldwide sensation as fans looked up to the Princess of Genovia, Mia Thermopolis (played by Anne Hathaway).
Mandy played Lana Thomas, a prominent cheerleader who bullies Mia and other kids.
Recently Mandy was on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' when the conversation went to the potential of a third feature.
According to the actor, Lana would still require a redemption narrative, but the opportunity to play onscreen besties with Anne would be too fantastic to pass up..
"So, I would be game, I mean Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrews, like that was such a pivotal, seminal moment in my life," said of working with her Princess Diaries co-stars again.
In 2019, Anne revealed in an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' that a script for a third movie had been written.
"There is a script for the third movie. There is a script."
Anne continued: "I want to do it. Julie Andrews wants to do it. Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen."
She added that the team doesn't want to do it if it isn't "perfect" as "we love it just as much as you guys love it."
With a script already written and comments like "we're working on it" being thrown around, I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this one does make its way back on our screens and soon!
