Huge new 24/7 Kmart opening tomorrow

Aucklanders craving that late-night retail therapy don't have to wait much longer.

New Zealand favourite Kmart is due to open at Auckland's Sylvia Park on Thursday.

But, unlike other stores, this one will be open 24/7 - starting Thursday at 7am.

Kmart New Zealand country manager Jason Picard said the new store will offer customers "unprecedented accessibility".

"For us, it's about offering better support to New Zealand families who are busy balancing work, family and leisure commitments," he said in a statement.

The 3926sqm store will occupy the space which previously housed Countdown, at the southern end of the mall.

It's Kmart's seventh store in Auckland, and the first to open in Auckland in more than 10 years. The other Auckland locations include Albany, Henderson, St Lukes, Manukau, Botany and Papatoetoe.
