Meet the four Year 13 students from Ormiston Senior College who have turned a school business project into a genuine commercial venture: a financial literacy board game called Money Mayhem.

Inspired by the competitive drive and engagement of classics like Monopoly, Money Mayhem is tailored specifically for kids aged 9 to 15. The core premise is straightforward yet impactful: real money decisions with zero real risk.

Players take charge of their own simulated finances, earning income, evaluating purchases, taking strategic risks, and experiencing the consequences in real time. By the final turn, players have navigated the exact financial decisions adults encounter every day.

Inside the Venture
  • The Vision: Bridge the gap between passive learning and active financial decision-making through engaging, competitive gameplay.

  • The Audience: Young adolescents (ages 9–15) who are beginning to form life-long money habits.

  • The Origin: Developed through the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES), taking the team from initial brainstorming to product development and market execution.

Listen to our full interview with the founders of Money Mayhem as they break down their journey, the hurdles of launching their first business, and where they plan to take the game next.
