Hellers and Bluebird are combining saussies with two iconic NZ chip flavours for BBQ szn

Our summer barbies are about to be lit

A classic Kiwi BBQ can never go wrong with a few snags sizzling on the grill while cracking into a bag of chips.

So, what happens when the two are combined? And no we're not talking about making some snag meets chip butty.

Hellers and Bluebird have gone all-in, smashing the good ol' Kiwi sausage together with Rashuns and Burger Rings.

One of our own champs from Rock HQ copped a sneak peek at these new saussies during a trip to Sylvia Park in Auckland over the weekend.

Reckons he had to do a double take, thinking he was hallucinating from the hunger, but nah, these sizzlers are the real deal.

Brydon Heller, Marketing Manager for Hellers told the NZ Herald that the idea for the pairing sparked from other Kiwi foodie mash-ups.

This isn't the only chip-inspired combo we've gotten this year.

Remember when Doritos teamed up with a Kiwi artist for Fire & Fury Pizza and The Kingpin Burger chips?

Designed by Kiwi street artist Liam Hindley, also known as Gasp, the art empowers New Zealanders to be themselves without worrying about judgment.

And when it comes to meat, us Kiwis can get around a mash-up.

let's not forget some keen bloke whipped up a 'Vie'—that's Blue V and Mince pies combined.

U/AvailingPiano posted it on the Kiwi subreddit, claiming it's a tradie's dream snack.

He said he made it during a Covid fever, and reckons he's a legend in his own right.

"By combining a Blue V and a pie into a single entity I have effectively given tradies an extra hand they can now use while eating lunch. After convincing my girlfriend that I had not actually lost my taste to Covid, she agreed to help me turn this Covid dream into reality."

Let's cross everything we've got that these snags are the meaty match-up to blow our minds.
