Guitar Hero is basically back, and the soundtrack is stacked

Guitar Hero is pretty much back, and now we’ve got a list of bands and artists to get us amped.

The legendary Guitar Hero experience is making a comeback with Stage Tour, a new rhythm game from former Guitar Hero developers at RedOctane Games, launching on PS5 on December 10.

And as someone who grew up absolutely ripping Guitar Hero on the PS2, I am SO bloody amped for this.

Stage Tour is bringing back everything we loved about Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Plastic guitars, five coloured buttons, and the chance to convince yourself you're a rockstar while standing in your lounge.

And it's not just guitars making a comeback either. Stage Tour is bringing back the full band experience, with drums, bass and microphones so you can get the whole band together again.

There's even support for electronic drum kits through MIDI, older instruments with compatible adapters, and four-player multiplayer both online and locally.

But here's where things get even better.

The developers have recently revealed 61 songs from the game's launch soundtrack, and there are some absolute weapons on there.

We're talking Metallica's 'Lux Æterna', Slipknot's 'Psychosocial', Ghost's 'Square Hammer', Mötley Crüe's 'Kickstart My Heart' and Megadeth's 'Tornado of Souls'.

Chuck in The Darkness, Blink-182, Paramore, Muse, Weezer and Tenacious D covering '...Baby One More Time', and you've got yourself one hell of a setlist.

There'll be over 90 songs at launch, plus a new Tour Mode where you work your way from small venues to massive arenas.

You can even use older guitar controllers with compatible adapters. Shit I can’t wait to dust off my plastic red guitar and play in some new venues.

After that Guitar Hero mobile comeback nobody asked for, this is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for. I don't want to tap a phone screen. I want to absolutely butcher a Metallica solo on a plastic guitar again.

December 10 can't come soon enough. If ya keen, you can pre-order bundles now.
