Groundswell co-founder thanks Labour Party for 'best advertising ever' in golf ball scandal

Groundswell co-founder Bryce McKenzie is impressed at how quickly the golf balls are selling out.

Groundswell's stall at Fieldays 2023 caught the attention of media on Wednesday when it was revealed they were selling a set of golf balls with Labour MP's faces printed on the front.

The pack of balls is advertised with the slogan 'Drive Labour Out' (a sneaky play on words there) and features a set of four balls containing the faces of Climate Change Minister James Shaw, Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, Environment Minister David Parker and Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor.

The news was picked up by sites such as The NZHerald, Newshub and The Post.

Groundswell co-founder Bryce McKenzie sat down with REX host Dominic George to talk more about the idea behind the golf balls, why they were asked to remove them from their stall and what the reaction has been like since the complaint.
