Greta Lee has admitted that she "broke" having to run 13 miles (21 kilometres) over the course of one night while filming Tron: Ares.

The 2025 sci-fi action movie, the third in the Tron franchise, follows a highly sophisticated program named Ares as he is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission.

The Past Lives actress, who played human Eve Kim, spends much of the movie "running for her life", and she admitted on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast that she ran 13 miles during one night shoot - and her body paid the price.

"Half of that movie, my character is running for her life. You just have to sprint. There's no way to train for that," she explained. "It's just like me in this state, then suddenly running like, I don't know, like 13 miles in one night shoot where I'm just running. I broke."

Lee admitted that she was unable to work the following day because she couldn't walk.

"I forgot how many takes we did," she continued. "(There's) this shot where I was like running along the length of a pier and they had to bring in the... we had to shut down production because the next day I took one step and I couldn't walk."

Lee noted that she physically prepared for the demanding role, but "didn't train in the right way" for the running sequences because she "didn't know how".

The Toy Story 5 voice star advised podcast host Poehler against running in a film, adding that it's "so hard" and "actually bad for you".

Tron: Ares, which was released in October, starred Jared Leto as the titular program, as well as Jodie Turner-Smith, Evan Peters and Gillian Anderson.
