Despite battling illness during the competition, Canterbury's George Dodson has been crowned the 2024 FMG Young Farmer of the Year champion following the three-day competition last weekend.
Dodson highlights the preparation that allowed him to push through the tough times, including weekly quiz practice with his dad, as pivotal in his victory.
Through the long, sometimes lonely process, Dodson says it is all worth it and has big plans going forward with the $90,000 cash prize alongside the other benefits that come with the title.
