'Gave me chills': Watch this young South African boy embrace Aotearoa with a 'powerful' haka

Ka rawe e tama!

One young fulla from South Africa moved to Aotearoa with his whanau, but watching his haka, it feels like he's been here all along.

A TikTok posted by his mum shows young Joshua putting all his mana into performing a haka he learned at school.

Their family moved to Aotearoa over a year ago, and the lil man's been loving being part of the kapa haka group at his school.

"The way he is so passionate, I can tell he will go far. We love the culture and people, what a blessing to be here," his mama wrote.

"Bro, this boy is doing the haka like he's been here his entire life. Welcome to your second home, young man," said one commenter.

Another added: "Felt the mana in this one šŸŒæ You are powerful, little buddy! šŸ„°"

While a third wrote: "He sounds awesome, keep going, youngblood. Gave me haka chills šŸ˜Ž Love to see our tauiwi whanau embracing Maori, just šŸ‘Œ"

He's not the only one embracing the haka. A group of Americans taught themselves 'Ka Mate' for their mate who couldn't make it home to Aotearoa for his grandmother's tangi.

Jarom Ngakuru, a tane Maori living in America, shared the emotional moment, getting us all teary-eyed.

"The hardest part about living in America is that we live so far away. I couldn't make it home for my nan's funeral and I was BROKEN! So my boys at work learned the haka without me knowing and brought home to me šŸ ," Jarom captioned the post.

No matter the age, we love to see a slice of Aotearoa being celebrated by others.
