It’s April 1st, the one day of the year the internet is officially a trust-free zone. (Not that the other 364 days are much better lately.)

Social media is a dangerous place today, and there’s always one person who falls hook, line, and sinker for a prank.

We’ve done the hard work for you and ranked the best April Fools' gags from across the country. You’re welcome.

10. Subway

Subway got us good this year. Honestly, given some of the recent additions to their menu, this didn't even seem that crazy. Are they testing the waters for a real launch? We’re not sure, but we’d actually love to try it.

9. RUBY

One that had us second, triple, and quadruple-checking our calendars was the announcement of a RUBY debut Pilates studio: RUBY Says Reformer. The level of dedication and the quality of the images had us totally convinced. Honestly? We don’t think this would be a bad idea at all.

8. UP & GO

As a die-hard UP&GO fan, I’d usually trust them to make anything delicious, but this one left us shocked. It wouldn't be a bad way to get your daily dose of fruit and veg!

Shoutout to the disclaimer, though: 'We recommend remaining within 15 metres of a toilet 4 hours post-consumption.' Crack up.

7. Cookie Time

What a tease. Can you imagine the compliments you'd get if you had this burning in your home? Although, we’d likely be drooling for a cookie all day long.

6. IKEA

While IKEA has only just landed in New Zealand, we wouldn't put it past them to actually launch this in store and you bet we'd try it. We always love an IKEA meatball moment.

5. PALS

Our favourite Kiwi brand Pal's really got us this morning, and you bet we were excited about another addition to the Pal's family. Until we saw they were 30%, then we knew this couldn't be real...

4. Retros Cordial

Trust comedian Jimi Jackson’s company, Retro Cordials, to give us a hilarious take on our favourite Kiwi classics this April Fools' Day.

They get a 10 out of 10 for commitment by actually making the drink and filming themselves trying it... now we're intrigued. We also just noticed they have the bottle up for sale on their website, which has us questioning whether this was a gag or a secret product launch.

3. PIC's

What an absolute tease. Anything from Pic's is a winner, but if this were real, it would be a permanent fixture in our lunch rotation.

2. Dyson

Love this from Dyson. We definitely know there's some diva pet owners out there that would actually purchase this.

1. BurgerFuel

Coming in at number one is BurgerFuel's 'The Fairly Oddburger,' which definitely rings true to its name. We wouldn't put it past BurgerFuel to actually create this, complete with BurgerFuel Fried Chicken, bacon, onion rings, maple syrup, relish, and BurgerFuel Aioli on a fairy bread bun.

BurgerFuel, if you're reading this, we'd actually love to try this.

And that's April Fools' Day done and dusted for another year.

Honourable mention to the team at George FM (shameless plug) for their April Fools' gag below. It got people way too excited and might have even inspired some future merch. Watch this space...

And (yet another shameless plug) to More FM for making us quadruple-check the date to make sure this was a joke.

See y'all again next year.
