Fred Again is not only back on his new music shit, he's also once again making talented young people mega-famous Having plucked Kiwi DJ prodigy Messie from relative obscurity when he was here in NZ, Fred's now turned his attention to 16-year-old Ian Hotko, who tears up the dance floor in a video for Fred's new track '…FEISTY'.
The teen Slovenian dancer has been going viral all year for moving like he’s got a cheat code enabled, and now he’s stepped onto the world stage.
Fred posted to Instagram with a video of Hotko doing that thing he does where his body behaves like it’s got different rules than the rest of us. "This is @ianhotko he’s 16, and on Friday when Feisty came out, we invited him over from Slovenia to the show," Fred captioned the clip.
Fred said he discovered Ian when "everyone he knew" sent him a video of Ian dancing to 'Rumble' at a competition this past month, and was blown away.
“It’s insane. He turns off gravity at one point just for a sec."
Imagine being 16 and getting a DM from Fred, keen to fly you from Slovenia to Vancouver to help drop his new song.
Fred said he asked Hotko if he wanted to hear the tune before ripping into it, and he declined.
“He said it’s best when he just freestyles. That blew my mind, I’d always thought these things were like meticulously choreographed!” Fred wrote.
So the kid rocked up, heard the track for the very first time, and delivered a performance sharp enough to break the internet.
The full video is an uncut 4:46 of Hotko pulling off a freakish freestyling feat.
Pretty unreal stuff to see, and he’s only just getting started.
