The Foo Fighters, Taylor Momsen, and Mariah Carey aren’t exactly the collab you’d expect, but for one night only, the trio came together to revive some unreleased ’90s grunge tracks written by the pop queen herself.

The event was all about celebrating Mariah Carey being named MusiCares’ 'Person of the Year', and while a bunch of celebs performed tributes, it was Momsen and the Foos who got the special honour of taking on a couple of tunes Mariah secretly dropped with a mate.

Taylor belted the songs, including 'Love Is a Scam' and 'Hermit', with the Foos backing her. And despite Mariah’s reputation for being picky about who touches her music, she sang along and even beamed a bit of a smile during the performance.

Fans got around it too, with one person writing under Momsen’s TikTok: “Just want to say you did such an amazing job with this!! It was amazing to see you sing it with the Foo Fighters - full circle.”

Another added: “I loved it, Taylor!! And you made Mariah happy!”

The Foos said: “THANK YOU Mariah Carey and MusiCares!!! It was an honour performing ‘Hermit’ & ‘Love Is A Scam’ with Taylor Momsen.”

Others backed the band, writing: “That was a PHENOMENAL performance!”

Another said: “Y'all killedddd this and obsessed with the drum set!!!”

“The best tribute of the night HANDS DOWN!!” A third added.

In Mariah's 2020 memoir 'The Making of Mariah Carey', the 'Fantasy' singer revealed she secretly recorded a grunge-influenced album called ‘Someone’s Ugly Daughter’, which never saw the light of day.

Her label wasn’t keen, so in 1995, she got her friend Clarissa Dane to sing it under the band named Chick.

Around the same time, Mariah shared on socials: “Fun fact: I did an alternative album while I was making 'Daydream'. Just for laughs, but it got me through some dark days.”

Is it too late to get a re-record from Momsen and the Foos?!
