Over the weekend, Flume live-streamed on TikTok to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his debut, self-titled album. He managed to find and fix the old laptop he made the 2014 project with, and on it were a lot of unreleased tracks, and today he released one of them.
'Slugger 1.4 [2014 Export.WAV]' is the track he dropped today on streaming services and it is a BANGER that takes me right back to 2014.
"Made this one in Paris, always loved this demo but it never quite made it onto an album," Flume said of the track, as reported by TripleJ. "I figured now that it's 10 years since my first album was released it would be a good time to share. Hope you like it."
Listen to 'Slugger' below.
Although quite a few fans were disappointed by the TikTok live-stream - expecting more tracks being played and less weird challenges - there were some big highlights to come from it.
Brownies & Lemonade, an LA-based dance music event company, tweeted out their list of newsworthy moments from the Sunday night stream, and one in particular sent Flume fans into a frenzy.
That's right, the beloved Flume remix of Lorde's 'Tennis Court' will be coming to streaming services soon. An exact date was not given but I am praying to the EDM gods that it will be available before summer hits.
Fans were unbelievably stoked with the news, and I get why. The track is immensely popular and has been around for nearly a decade, having amassed over 100 million views on YouTube since it came out in 2014.
If you haven't heard the remix before, do yourself a favour and give it a listen below.
You can catch Flume live in February of next year, and we're proud to be bringing him. Get ya tickets below.
