Australian DJ FISHER has landed a pretty unexpected role in the upcoming 'Toy Story 5'.
FISHER will be voicing a character called the Garden Gnome in the Australian and New Zealand release of the Disney and Pixar film.
“Fisher is officially joining the voice cast... bringing his unmistakable energy to the next chapter of one of Pixar’s most iconic stories,” Disney AUNZ announced on Instagram.
FISHER himself was just as hyped, writing: “THIS IS ACTUALLY WILD !!!! IM THE ‘GARDEN GNOME’ IN 'TOY STORY 5' 🤣🤣🤣."
"I honestly can't wait to watch this with Chloe, Bobbi and Andi ❤️🥹 Thank you so much for having me Disney AUNZ."
His fans were quick to jump in with reactions, with one writing: “This movie series just got a lot better, mate! WOW! Side quest of the year!”
“Can’t wait to see garden gnome in action!” said another, while a third added: “A new reason to go see this!”
Speaking to Rolling Stone AU, FISHER said he’s “incredibly excited” to be part of the film.
“This is a franchise that my family and I have loved for years - I can’t wait to watch it with my kids.”
The Garden Gnome is part of a “small but scrappy community of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed,” according to the outlet.
And FISHER isn’t the only surprise name in the cast of abandoned toys. Bad Bunny has also joined the cast as the "effortlessly cool and mysterious" Pizza with Sunglasses.
And just today, Taylor Swift announced the release of a new original song for the film - 'I knew It, I knew You'
"I've always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I've adored since I was a five-year-old kid watching the first 'Toy Story' movie," Swift said in her announcement on Instagram.
The movie hits NZ cinemas on June 18 - and we’re keen to see how FISHER's Garden Gnome actually fits into the 'Toy Story' universe.
