First ever International team joins Silver Spades competition at Fieldays

Wiggins was also very impressed to see a number of young women competing at Fieldays.

Craig 'Wiggy' Wiggins joined REX host Dominic George live at Fieldays and told him this year's fencing competitions are fiercely contested.

"The cadets are putting up a 2-wire electric fence over 30 meters, in the Bill Schuler competition they are putting up 40 meters of 3-wire electric fence," he said.

"Heaps of new competitors turned up for the heats and this year in the Silver Spades doubles competition there's a team flown out from England to have a go."

This is the first time that Fieldays has seen any international team come out and compete in any event.

"We are going to send a team over to England for their big competition from the winners of this."

Wiggins was also very impressed to see a number of young women competing at Fieldays.

He told George is something he hasn't seen in such strong numbers before and is amazing to see.

"That's a newbie for me to see them here, there are quite a lot of women that fence around the country and it's good to see some girls cracking in at an early age, awesome."

'Whatever with Wiggy' is a charity Wiggins set up to facilitate mental health support for Kiwis that is also keeping him plenty busy off the farm.
