For many years, a Subway sando has been a classic day-before-payday meal and an ideal option for a dusty Sunday when you've bankrupted yourself buying too many rounds of cocky-Ts the night before.

Well, it appears Subway's status as a cheap and cheerful way to chow down is slipping, and New Zealanders are salty about it, to say the least.
