It's looking like Calvin Harris will have to fork out thousands of dollars after he broke a rule at one of the biggest music festies in the world.
The massive DJ superstar stayed up past the bedtime Coachella set for him, playing his banging tunes past the festival's curfew. However, those in attendance were loving the DJ's #badboytendencies.
Indio City, where Coachella takes place, has a permit which states all performances at the festival must wrap up by 1 am on Friday and Saturday and midnight on Sunday. Calvin Harris, man of the people, kept the party going for 22 minutes after the curfew, as reported by Pitchfork.
One TikTok filmed in the crowd of Calvin's set said that "apparently artists get charged $1000/minute" they go past curfew. Looks like Calvin will be forking up $22,000 for going hard in the paint deep into the night.
Fans, of course, frothed that the DJ was willing to pay out of his own wallet to ensure they had a good time (and pointed out he can most definitely afford the fine).
"There is a certain sense of dopamine when you experience an artist who truly cares about their art and guest experiences instead of profit," one comment on the TikTok says.
"Calvin Harris said 'Bet'," reads another.
"I mean the Scottish like a party, he is deffo is Scottish in the heart," a third commenter added.
"Calvin Harris is the goat fr," one more said.
After the first weekend, Coachella was fined an overall $117,000 by the city for breaking curfew violations. In addition to Calvin, Bad Bunny went 22 minutes past curfew on the Friday, and Frank Ocean went 25 minutes over on the Sunday.
Shoutout to Calvin Harris for kicking on past bedtime.
