An ex-royal protection officer has branded Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as a "horrible little man".
The former royal's onetime employee lashed out at his old boss, labelling him "obnoxious" and a "turd", and arguing other former employees were "too scared" to tell their own stories.
"My colleagues hated him and the only reason they are not coming forward is they are frightened," Paul Page, who was employed at Buckingham Palace from 1998 to 2004, told Australian newspaper The Courier Mail on 20 February.
"I've been speaking to colleagues and they've said, 'what is the game for them, what is the plus point for them', they're going up against one of the world's most powerful families".
Working for Andrew, Paul said, he found the former Duke of York to be a "rude, horrible little man" who was "obnoxious and full of his own self-importance".
The 66-year-old brother of King Charles III, 77, was arrested by UK police this week on suspicion of public office misconduct.
"The reason the King is in so much trouble is he spent so long polishing a turd, that turd has now stained his hands and he's not going to get rid of that stain or smell no matter what ... the turd being Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor," Paul added.
"It's too little, too late... he's put the King in jeopardy, badly."
Paul claimed that although Andrew frequently insulted his staff, calling them "f**king imbeciles" and "fat, lardy-arse c**ts", neither Paul nor his colleagues had "the guts" to tell his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, as they knew how much she doted on her youngest son.
"Most people knew he was the Queen's favourite," Paul explained. "He led a very protected and entitled life because he had servants, footmen, personal valets, maids, he had everything done for him from the time he was born."
