Longstanding host of George Breakfast, Tammy Davis, has announced this morning that he's finishing up his time at George FM.
It's been a hell of a ride since Tammy first joined the station. He started as a weekly guest as the infamous "Tammy Davis: Life Coach," giving listeners some pretty suss advice, before then joining the team full-time. His sense of humour, energy, and creativity have kept George pumping in the morning for the last eight years.
Tammy has delivered countless highlights, from surprising everyone by becoming a music festival pioneer (creating his own sold-out event, Tammy's Tiny Fest, not once, but twice) to pumping out hilarious and crack-up videos on the daily—like his "This is New Zealand" parody, which absolutely should have won a radio award if you ask us. He's never failed to put a smile on our dial with his outrageous sense of humour and infectious laugh.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have supported me, both here at mahi and of course, you guys listening," Tammy said on air this morning. "I want to thank all those who have worked with me in the past, Clint Roberts, General Lee, Kara Rickard, and Stu Tolan."
Tammy continued, "Whoever comes in to take my place, please make them feel welcome. Show them your support the same way you've gotten behind me over the last 8 years."
Tammy's final show will be on October 30th, so be sure to tune in for a big send-off.
We wish him all the best for what's next, and big ups for all his contributions to George over nearly a decade.
General Lee will be staying on, and George FM's new breakfast show will be announced soon.
