Elton John concert goer goes home with a little something extra from Christchurch show

The Breakfast Club caught up with Kim the next morning to hear how it all happened.

Elton John is back on our shores, kicking off his round of his 2023 NZ concerts at Christchurch's Orangetheory Stadium.

It was a big night for everyone including the members of The Breakfast Club who were able to tag along in the crowd.

Their night pales in comparison to one lucky concert goer though, who went home with something very special.

The Breakfast Club caught up with Kim to chat about her new concert 'trophy'.

Listen now on ROVA.

Lana got straight to it, saying to Kim, "You got to take something different home last night. Tell us about it".

In a magical mid-concert moment, Elton's drummer, Nigel Olsson, walked up the stage ready to release the piece of memorabilia.

Although there could have been a little bit of confusion, there were a lot of people in that crowd so it is not hard to think that people would have been fighting to get their hands on the prize.

Elton still has two more shows to go here in Aotearoa, and Lana was already on the front foot wondering, "do you think they'll probably do the same thing in Auckland?"

Who knows, but if you do manage to get right up the front at Mt Smart Stadium, keep your eyes peeled for stray drumsticks!

As for Kim, this is definitely going to be one piece of memorabilia she will cherish for a long time to come.
