Taylor Swift's Patient Zero has relinquished its stranglehold on the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 after three weeks.
Popping back up into the top spot is Ella Langley's indomitable Choosin' Texas, which extends its record-breaking run of non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 to 25.
Tate McRae's Housewife had a strong debut at No. 2, followed by the Olivia Rodrigo/Chappell Roan remix of Expectations at No. 3. The Zach Bryan and Lana Del Rey duet, Lies, sits at No. 4.
Patient Zero fell to fifth spot.
Choosin' Texas had already broken the record previously held by Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You when it reached its 23rd week at the top in late September. However, it is expected that the Carey perennial will return to No. 1 in the weeks just before Christmas, as it usually does.
Reflecting on making US chart history in a video posted to Instagram, Ella thanked her fans for their ongoing support.
"I'm genuinely trying to find the words to help explain what's going on in my brain today," she began. "Thank you so much for loving this song, for listening to it... I'm running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel."
Ella went on to note that the success of Choosin' Texas hasn't only impacted her life but that of her co-writers: Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor.
"Just thank you so much, it's changing my life, it's changing the lives of the writers of this song. It's changing the lives of my family, and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I'm gonna be able to do the rest of my life," the 27-year-old shared.
