Elizabeth Debicki turned "bright red" after her first encounter with Alexander Skarsgård on the set of their movie Wicker.
In the new romance fantasy, Olivia Colman plays an outcast fisherwoman who asks a basket maker to weave her a wicker husband, who is brought to life by Skarsgård.
Debicki, who plays one of the villagers, told Variety that she first saw Skarsgård on set when he was wading through water "stark naked as wicker" in his full-frontal bodysuit and prosthetics.
"I turned the corner, and I was like, 'Hi, Alex!' and I went bright red because my brain couldn't compute what it was seeing," Debicki recalled in a joint interview with Colman and Skarsgård. "I was just like 'Oh my God! Welcome to Budapest, I guess.'"
For Colman, who also produced the film, she was delighted to see Skarsgård in costume for the first time.
"It was amazing because we'd all been looking at images for 18 months or so, and then to see it in the flesh, it was amazing," Colman said. "That (feeling) of, 'Oh my god, it's going to work!'"
The Big Little Lies actor noted that he felt relieved when he heard the Oscar-winning star's response to his full wicker look.
"It was a lot of anticipation and excitement and a lot of nerves because it was like, 'Oh s**t! If it doesn't work, then we're kind of screwed,'" he remembered. "It was an incredible day that I'll never forget. Putting it on and then it helped me find the physicality of the character and then stepping out of the trailer and having Olivia outside going (gasps)... It's even better than we imagined."
Wicker, also starring Peter Dinklage, is in U.S. cinemas now. It will open in the U.K. on Friday.
