Ed Sheeran has landed in New Zealand ahead of his 'Loop Tour' kicking off in Auckland later this week, and if you needed another reason to adore the pop star, this is it.

Sim Kaur, the founder of the 'Friends That Invest' brand, posted on her Instagram page, “Woke up and saw I was seated opposite Ed Sheeran on a commercial flight from LA to New Zealand.”

Yes, Ed Sheeran, one of the biggest artists on the planet, with not a private jet in sight.

“My fiancé and I tried to avoid staring, striking up a conversation or asking for a photo," Sim added in the comments.

"I assume if we want more celebs to fly commercial, we should leave them alone,” she continued, which is so valid.

And it turns out this isn’t even a one-off. People in the comments revealed Ed regularly flies commercial in Europe, too.

One wrote, “He flies Ryanair in Europe! Can’t believe it. What a guy! I have 0.01% of his wealth,h and even I complain about flying Ryanair.”

There’s a pretty wholesome reason behind it as well. In a past interview, Ed explained, “My wife works in sustainability. We try to fly completely normally as much as possible.”

“I’ll do it [fly private] very, very rarely and only if it’s like… I’m doing something in Germany, and I have to be in LA the next day.”

“I like the environment. I like trees. I find it hard to justify.”

I think we made the right guy famous.

Ed is set to play Auckland this Friday at Go Media Stadium, Wellington at Sky Stadium on Wednesday, 21 January, and then Christchurch at Apollo Projects Stadium on Saturday, 24 January, and Sunday, 25 January.

Who knows, if you’re travelling between the main cities, you may just have the one and only Ed Sheeran on your flight.
