Duncan Garner Announces Live Broadcasts Ahead of 2026 Election

As New Zealand builds up toward Election Day, Duncan Garner Editor in Chief is ramping up its coverage for Election 2026, with a series of live shows taking audiences through the biggest moments of the campaign from the major debates to Election Night.

Starting Sunday, October 4, host Duncan Garner will go live every Sunday at 7:00 PM to unpack the key political developments, emerging stories, and critical conversations shaping the campaign trail.

In addition to the weekly Sunday broadcasts, Garner will go live immediately following each major leaders’ debate, offering instant reaction and expert analysis as events unfold.

The live coverage will reach its climax on Saturday, November 7, with a dedicated Election Night Special following the results and political fall-out live as the votes are counted.

“Elections move fast, and this one will be no different. I’ve covered every MMP election this country has held since 1996, and this one matters more than ever,” says Duncan Garner.

“The two sides have never been more divided, and so much is at stake. Going live means we can be there as the big moments happen, talking directly to the major players, asking the questions that matter, and giving people somewhere to come for immediate reaction and analysis.”
