Son & Water are bringing the feel-good vibes with their single ‘Drop It Down’, a track all about letting go, being yourself and letting the music take over.

Written by frontman Daimond Porima Ferguson, who whakapapa to Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Ruapani, Ngāti Hikairo and Ngāti Hauā, alongside his father and Katchafire co-founder Jamey Ferguson, the song was created with one goal in mind: to get people up and moving.

For Daimond, it’s about forgetting what everyone else thinks and feeling free to express yourself through music. Whether you’re on the dancefloor or just vibing wherever you are, ‘Drop It Down’ is an invitation to embrace your authentic self and move however feels right.

Produced by Canaan Ene, the track brings together live drums, guitar and those signature reggae skank rhythms, capturing the raw, positive energy that makes Son & Water’s sound so infectious.

With its uplifting feel and full-band sound, ‘Drop It Down’ is a reminder that music has the power to bring people together, lift the wairua and create moments where you can simply be yourself.
