Drake's representative has shut down a rumour claiming he is the father of Keshia Chanté's baby.

On Tuesday, the Canadian singer-songwriter announced in an interview for Hello! Canada magazine that she is expecting a baby boy and is due to give birth next summer.

Keshia declined to name her child's father but hinted that he is involved in the music industry.

A short time later, gossip began to swirl on social media that Drake was the dad.

However, the hip-hop star's spokesperson quickly rejected the speculation.

"It's false," they stated to People.

Keshia and Drake, 39, briefly dated and remain friends. The 38-year-old was also reportedly the inspiration behind the rapper's famous line, "Kiki, do you love me?" in his 2018 song, In My Feelings.

A representative for the Unpredictable hitmaker has not yet responded to the rumours.

Speaking to Hello!, Keshia shared that she is "unavailable" when asked about her relationship status.

"I'm very free-spirited, and whatever the universe wants for me, I'll have," she said of pregnancy. "But (the baby's dad) said he was ready. He set up the play and he nailed it! God bless him... He's brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I'm inspired by. So I would love to see my son have his mannerisms and his swag."

Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, welcomed a son named Adonis with ex-partner Sophie Brussaux in October 2017.
