Dolly Parton's nephew fired from security role at her properties - report

The late Dolly Parton's nephew Bryan Seaver has reportedly been fired from his longtime job heading up security at her properties.

Seaver and his security company, SAPS, received a notice on 16 September, informing them that their services were no longer required, TMZ reports.

Seaver's team were allegedly asked to leave Parton's properties immediately, including her primary home in Nashville, museum and warehouse, and have been replaced by a new security outfit.

Seaver was reportedly informed in the letter that his removal from security services had no impact on his personal interest in Parton's estate.

A rep for SAPS told the outlet that they were "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions" taken by the executors of Parton's estate since her death.

"We remain unshakably resolved to fulfil her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much," the company spokesperson added.

Seaver, who is the son of Dolly's sister Cassie, was given the responsibility of announcing his aunt's death at age 80 on 25 August.

"As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven't truly felt it until now," Seaver shared in a video message posted on Parton's official Instagram account at the time.

"It is an honour, an honour that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus."
